Warm Week +

Postby Shadowgirlau » Fri Mar 12, 2010 12:11 pm

Warm week over here, hoping for a cooler change next week. Hear there was a small earthquake over East; 3.4 so just a tremour really although family members here gasped when they heard about it. Earthquakes in Australia although they occurr still are not common so do cause a lot of comment. Actually I was looking on an earthquake site and we do get a lot of earthquakes however they are so low that they are not reported on.

DD has the Sunrise show on at the moment and yet again they are commenting on this Lara Bingle ... carry on. So annoying. I wish everyone would email in and tell the show to get a life and stop reporting on these things.

We have finally finished the exterior of the house. Just waiting on the plumber to come in and do his thing now and then we can think about electrical. I made another start on drawing up plans for the garden around the house. Have a feeeling they will remain "on paper" for sometime yet. The plans for irrigating the vegetable garden and the orchard are a priority for this comming winter as I don't want to be hand watering again come next summer.

Also hope to be able to get the storeroom lined over winter so I can use it next season even if we still arent' in the house. :) which I don't expect to be.

Next on the list for us is the reseeding of the back paddock and the possible purchase of a couple of Dorppers.

Oh, Vicki I just heard that Jamie Oliver is over here. Are you going to go and see him?

Well had better go and do some more work, have a great weekend everyone.

Cheers

Hi Kathleen,

Well we've seen a little blue sky this week but still getting the odd shower, so no clothes on the line.

I've started the dreaded packing and we've put in a missing wall and fixed the laundry roof which will need painting... so it's starting to get busy with the moving things.

We've found something we like and don't want to give myself bad luck by talking about it until it's done. ;)

Heard about Jamie, I'd love to but at the moment between packing and fixing up the house to sell and my cat who I've found out is diabetic and may need to go on insulin I'm so frantic I'm spinning.

My poor cat, damn those cat biscuits and cat food with cereals... they're killing our cats with the rotten food as well as us! I've had him on a strict diet for a few weeks and we're hoping when he does his next blood test he'll improve with diet, I hope so as it's a big thing the insulin. Cats have two injections a day so it's not like we will be able to go away and leave him with anyone. :( Fingers crossed we do it with diet.

I've been told by the person who brought our first lot of steers that he got back the meat of the first one and it's the best meat is fantastic, some of the best he's ever had which is good to know. Pity it wasn't in our freezer... but it will one day. ;)

Have a good weekend everyone.
:D

HI
yes we are a bit like that - the good sheep go for sale because they get the better price. We had a surprise though,as we found a wether in amongst all the ewes that missed the trip to market and who is in excellent condition so we gained this and he is going into our freezer. No point taking one to market!! BJ

Hope everything works out well for you with the poor cat and diet is the only requirement. Good luck with the "other" :)

The sheep we are fattening look like they are nearly ready to go for the freezer.

Was very warm here over night and looks like it is going to be another hot day here today as well. The sheep must be feeling the heat as they didn't come up for the feed this morning when I went into their paddock and they usually come up to me when ever I go in there. Didn't even give me a look when I went in and turned the water on earlier either. They are all out there lying down looking sorry for themselves.
